Life Sciences Sector

Book-ended by MaRS Discovery District in downtown Toronto and McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton.

The Ontario Life Sciences Corridor is the largest cluster of Biotech and Life Science firms in Canada and one of the largest in North America. But scaling biotech companies in the Greater Toronto Area have historically been in the difficult position of having few incubator spaces in the region in which to start and even fewer graduation spaces within which to grow. Because lab-ready space has been all but impossible to find in the Greater Toronto Area, companies looking for 2,000 or 20,000 square feet of lab space have had to make the expensive and time-consuming decision to build their own space and commit to long-term leases in non-traditional and much less desirable locations. It is for these reasons that Jim Wilson of Lennard Commercial was the first person in the Toronto commercial real estate community to focus on working with companies in biotech and Life Sciences. At Lennard, our knowledge and relationships within the Toronto Life Sciences community are valued resources for companies looking to grow in the Ontario Life Sciences Corridor.
