Experience

Prior to joining Lennard Commercial as Senior Vice President, Mark worked with many institutional and non-institutional landlords across the GTA and Winnipeg in various leadership capacities both in commercial leasing and property management at BentallGreenOak and Oxford Properties Group. With over 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Mark has advised landlords on commercial leasing and property management strategies through an understanding of their commercial real estate investment objectives while leading teams to execute on those strategies. Mark brings numerous skills and experiences to assist tenants in navigating the commercial lease transaction process ultimately leading to a positive occupancy based on the tenant’s requirements, including:

• Tenant/Landlord conflict resolution
• Several million square feet of leases transacted across the GTA, Southern Ontario and Winnipeg
• Deep understanding of the various GTA commercial markets
• Understanding renewal strategies (including early renewals executing on downsizing or expansions objectives), creating leverage, assignments and subletting and early lease surrenders
• Transaction negotiation
• Financial analysis on lease terms 
• Operating cost recoveries and the financial impacts on commercial tenancies and landlords
• Landlord’s capital planning objectives and impact on commercial tenancies

Over the years, Mark has successfully worked with landlords, asset managers and operations teams in the acquisition and disposition of a number of commercial properties providing his insight and leasing experience to create value through executing on leasing strategies that mirror the investor's investment time horizons.
