Jim’s career spans 50 years in the commercial brokerage industry. Prior to joining Lennard Commercial Realty, he was the Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development of Cushman & Wakefield Ltd. Brokerage, where his role was that of a team leader on major assignments, over the years these have included Sheridan College Mississauga & Oakville Campuses, Movati Health Clubs, TPCL Head Office in Calgary, Alberta, the sale of the Imperial Oil tank farm in Mississauga, the Community Door in Mississauga and Brampton and the sale of Kingsway Financial’s primary office building to the Region of Peel. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Jim was the Managing Director and a Partner of J.J. Barnicke Limited. Jim is a member of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors and is President and Chair for the Hazel McCallion Foundation for Arts, Heritage and Culture.
He has also served two 6 year terms as a Board Member and Vice Chair of the Peel Regional Police Services Board, as well as, serving a 12 year term on the Board of Governors of the Credit Valley Hospital. Jim was named “Business Person of the Year” by the Mississauga Board of Trade in 2009 and has also been awarded Queen’s Silver Jubilee medal, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal. In 2015, Jim was awarded the highly prestigious Order of Ontario.
